About

Welcome to I Breathe to Eat, a resource dedicated to honest, home-cooked food that fits into a busy life. We share reliable recipes, practical meal shortcuts, and comfort food that actually tastes like comfort, without the stress.

I Breathe to Eat was founded by Jennifer, a home cook and recipe developer who believes that you don’t need a culinary degree to put a delicious dinner on the table. You just need a little guidance and a reliable recipe.

From 20-minute weeknight saves to slow-weekend braises, I Breathe to Eat is here to help you make peace with your kitchen.

Why I Started I Breathe to Eat

Like many people, I juggle a busy life, and cooking was never about perfection for me. It was about finding meals that actually worked, recipes that were quick, comforting, and satisfying, even on the busiest days. Over time, friends and family began asking for my recipes, and that’s when the idea for this blog was born.

Our Team

Jennifer Founder & Recipe Developer

Jennifer is the creator, photographer, and voice behind I Breathe to Eat. Her passion for cooking didn’t start in a fancy culinary school; it started in her grandmother’s small kitchen. Standing on a step-stool to reach the counter, she learned that cooking wasn’t about perfect measurements it was about tasting, adjusting, and making food that brings people together.

Jennifer’s Approach

Jennifer’s philosophy is simple: Respect the ingredients, but respect your time even more.

At I Breathe to Eat, she develops recipes that bridge the gap between “fast food” and “gourmet.” She focuses on accessible ingredients found at standard grocery stores and techniques that minimize dishwashing. Whether you are a beginner holding a knife for the first time or a seasoned parent needing new ideas, Jennifer’s goal is to make you the hero of your own dinner table.

Ryan- Editor

Ryan works behind the scenes to ensure that every article is polished, accurate, and easy to follow. His eye for detail ensures that our high standards of clarity are met before a post ever reaches your screen.

Our Story

The Birth of I Breathe to Eat

I Breathe to Eat began with a simple problem: the question, “What’s for dinner?”

Last year, while juggling a demanding 9-to-5 job, Jennifer realized that most recipes online were too complicated for a Tuesday night.

The turning point came when I brought a simple casserole to a neighborhood potluck and three people asked for the recipe. I wrote it down on the back of a napkin. The next week, it happened again. I realized I needed a place to keep these recipes safe.”

The Growth of the Platform

What started as a digital recipe box has grown into a comprehensive resource. As readers began to visit the site, the mission expanded from simply “storing recipes” to “solving problems.”

Today, the site covers everything from budget-friendly meal prep to indulgent desserts. But even as the platform grows, the core standard remains: every recipe is tested in a real home kitchen, not a test lab, ensuring it works for you.

Our Mission

Sharing Real Food

Food is connection. It is the way we care for our families and ourselves. Our mission is to strip away the intimidation of cooking. We don’t do “perfect” plating; we do delicious, messy, wonderful meals that get eaten.

Empowering the Home Cook

We aim to give you confidence. We want you to look at a fridge full of random ingredients and see a meal rather than a chore. We support thoughtful shopping, reducing food waste, and finding joy in the simple act of chopping an onion.

Why Choose I Breathe to Eat

Tested for Real Life

Unlike large recipe aggregators, I Breathe to Eat is run by a real person. Every recipe is tested in a standard kitchen with standard equipment. If a recipe says it takes 30 minutes, it is because we timed it.

Clarity and Simplicity

We prioritize clear instructions. We avoid chef-jargon. We explain why you are doing something, not just what to do.

Accessible Ingredients

You shouldn’t have to visit three different grocery stores to make dinner. We build recipes around ingredients you can find at your local supermarket.

A Focus on Reliability

Our goal is for you to have a “high success rate.” We share the tips, tricks, and potential pitfalls so that your first attempt is a success.
